Choudhry further added that the exact dates for the test match will be chalked out later.

The Afghan team obtained the Test Status together with Ireland after their memberships were approved as Full Members by the ICC, meaning they have become cricket's 11th and 12th Test-playing nations.

Afghanistan and Ireland were given Test status in June by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In the meeting it was further decided that Team India will play nearly fifty percent of its matches against big global teams like England, Australia and South Africa.

India has also not kept Pakistan amongst its six proposed opponents for the World Test Championship beginning in 2019.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India in its Special General Meeting on Monday chose to reduce the workload of the Indian cricket team as it took key decisions about the team's Future Tours Programme (FTP).The board chose to shorten the team's cricketing calendar to 306 playing days, from the earlier 390 playing days, for the period between 2019 to 2023.

On the other hand, Pakistan, which has been demanding bilateral cricket with India, was ignored at the Special General Meeting which resolved to play more against the likes of Australia, South Africa and England.

Atif Mashal, Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) also confirmed the news.

The RCA filed a suit against its suspension by the BCCI, to which the board had asked the association to withdraw all pending cases and not to involve the cricket board in any case. It is the first time that India would be hosting an ODI WC completely whereas they have previously co-hosted the ODI WC on three occasions, (1987, 1996 and 2011).

India played 36 Tests, 73 ODIs and 18 T20Is in the previous FTP and had to play an insignificant series against scheduled hastily which is now in progress.
