Mauricio Pochettino comments on Erik Lamela

After finishing their group campaign at home to Apoel Nicosia next month, Tottenham will await the draw for the last 16 on 11 December, where they could be pitted against teams as strong as Paris Saint-German, Bayern Munich, Roma and Juventus.

According to Pochettino a decision on whether to include Lamela in the squad to face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League at Wembley on Saturday has yet to be made.

The Tottenham Under-23 team will take their Manchester City counterparts in the Premier League 2 game at the Academy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

But Lamela could still earn himself a senior recall for the visit of the Baggies.

"We are waiting because now it is on him to get the right feeling to say: 'I am here to be available if you want, gaffer", the 45-year-old manager told the pre-match press conference, as quoted by The Guardian.

Pochettino said he understood that players would be disappointed if not selected, but reminded them that he is the man in charge and his decision is the one that matters.

Sindhu in last eight
It would not be an easy target for the Indian shuttler to defeat former world no. 1 Intanon who enjoys an upper hand over Sindhu. Sindhu looked completely in control against her lower-ranked opponent and had no problems in winning the first game 21-14.

"To think how far we have come from previous year in the Champions League [when they exited at the Group stage] to now, when we've finished top with one game to go, is something very special".

Against more defensively-minded opposition this season, the north Londoners have had to work hard to find a way through, securing narrow victories over Crystal Palace and Burnley, while Swansea City held them to a goalless draw.

"We need to increase our tempo within the games, not players with more pace", the Argentine added.

"[You need players] that can break one vs. one, like Lamela".

Mauricio Pochettino has sent a warning to Danny Rose and any other squad members who wish to challenge the Tottenham manager's authority.
