IT department conducts search & recovery operations at Poes Garden

Days after raids at Jaya TV, income tax officials landed at former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence in Chennai on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, Palaniswami blamed Sasikala's family for the search and said that the state government has nothing to do with it. Both Chief Minister Edapaddi K. Palaniswami and O. Pannerselvam are also behind this, and they need to answer 1.5 crore supporters of the AIADMK.

Terming the raids "painful", he said Dinakaran's attack on Palaniswami and Panneerselvam was for political gains.

Jayalalithaa's niece J Deepa, who made vain attempts to enter the Poes Garden residence on Friday night, also slammed Sasikala's family.

"Just imagine, if someone from your family happened to be with a powerful leader and did all the things said by the leader, and was still pushed to an unsafe situation later, then that is the best example for all women". The chief minister and other ministers are afraid of the Tax officials.

But on the other hand, there are clubs like "Phoenix" or "San Antonio", which only once in the "regular" played overtime. Bookmaker offices, as a rule, estimate the probability of a draw with coefficients from 10.00 to 15.00.

Responding to the media in Tuticorin, 600km from here, Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said: "The raids were done on the basis of specific information and not for political vendetta". On hearing the news that Veda Nilayam was being raided a number of cadre belonging to the Sasikala/Dinakaran faction of the AIADMK assembled in front of the palatial residence and shouted anti-BJP slogans. He accused the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of being responsible for the raid at Jayalalithaa's house.

Meanwhile, there was high drama outside the Poes Garden residence as ardent AIADMK supporters, majority supporters of sidelined leader and Sasikala's newphew, TTV Dhinakaran, gathered in protest.

On Friday night, IT officials recovered a laptop, a desktop and four pen drives from two rooms used by Sasikala at Jayalalithaa's residence here, said a senior official.

"During I-T raids in Poes Garden, Amma's room was not searched".

According to him, it was a "limited mission".
