The phallic outline over Okanogan County in the western U.S. state of Washington provoked much mirth online.

Naval Air Station Whidbey Island officials released a statement to KREM-TV confirming a Navy aircraft was to blame for the drawing.

Residents of the tiny Washington state town of Okanogan tell the Spokesman-Review they saw a jet drawing something in the sky around noon Thursday.

Officials at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island confirmed their aircraft took part in the manuevers.

According to KREM, multiple sources reported seeing the skywritings of what some described as male genitalia.

As for the design, the design features a bezel-less look, more ergonomic design, and the Alert Slider is still on the left edge. It features a 6-inch, reduced bezel AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and an 80.5 percent screen to body ratio.

Meanwhile on social media, photos of the phallic image continue to circulate.

KREM 2 reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration to find out who was behind the drawings.

One mother told news outlet KREM 2 that she was upset that she might have to explain to her young children what the images were.

Anahi Torres declared the penis in the sky was "monumental". "[We] can not police morality", the FAA rep said.

The Federal Aviation Administration, a government agency that regulates USA airspace, said the drawings did not appear to pose a safety risk and it "cannot police morality".
