Morocco fans riot in Brussels and Paris

Not only did Morocco secure its ticket, it displayed a convincing performance throughout the qualifiers and maintained the invincibility of its defense.

A stone-throwing mob injured 22 police officers as a riot erupted in Brussels after Morocco qualified for the World Cup.

The North African nations occupied the remaining two spots having recorded positive results in their last assignments.

Meanwhile, Tunisia 's goalless draw against Libya proved enough to seal their World Cup spot from Group A.

The Atlas Lions went into the match in Abidjan just needing a draw to consolidate their place as pacesetters in the final group match, but they went one better in what was an assured display.

TPP trade deal advances without US

North African nations Morocco and Tunisia took contrasting routes as they qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation. They lead the following groups, A, B, C, D, and E respectively. They represented the continent on home soil, South Africa, in 2010 while in 2014 they made it to Brazil.

West Africa has dominated Africa's contingent at the World Cup in recent years but some of its big names missed out this time: Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Ghana, all African champions multiple times, won't be in Russian Federation. "Congratulations for all African representatives at FIFA World Cup 2018", CAF wrote on their verified Twitter handle.

Right after the victory, King Mohammed VI of Morocco called Renard and team captain Mehdi Benatia whom he congratulated for the landmark achievement.

The continent has high hopes of going beyond the quarterfinals next year, and even win it for the first time. Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana have all reached the last eight stage.
