Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition launches globally

Amazon Fire TV Stick Basic Edition launches globally

In other words, we're looking at a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of native storage.

Amazon might have announced an avalanche of devices a few weeks ago, but notably absent was any upgrade to its Fire TV Stick. "Last year, we made Amazon Prime Video available to customers globally, and today, we're building on that momentum as we introduce Fire TV Stick Basic Edition to new customers around the world", says Marc Whitten, Vice President of Amazon Fire TV. However, the new Basic Edition is based on the 2nd Generation Fire TV Stick, but without Alexa.

In related news, Amazon recently reached out and shared some of the deals that it'll be offering over the upcoming Black Friday weekend.

The launch comes nearly a year after Amazon opened up its Prime Video streaming service to more than 200 countries, having been restricted to just a handful of locations until then. The key difference is that the Basic Edition ships with a remote control without microphone. That device is available for pre-order now and slated to begin shipping on October 25, but only for customers in the US.

Koenigsegg's factory test driver Niklas Lija drove Agera RS with its 1,144bhp, 5.0-litre turbo V8 to set the new record. The above video shows just that and features Koenigsegg factory driver Niklas Lilja hitting almost 300 miles per hour .

In addition to Prime Video, the 32-gram dongle can stream content from Netflix, YouTube and "over 4,000 apps and games across more than 100 countries and territories". It supports Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, and can decode H.265 video, according to Android Police. Customers can set their default language to Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Italian, German, or English. We've heard of new offers from the top e-commerce site and here's another one: the latest Fire TV Stick.

The new Fire TV Stick Basic Edition is basically the same as the second iteration of Amazon's streaming stick.

A basic version of Amazon's streaming device is now available for Kiwis to buy. Those versions are more powerful and, curiously, also less expensive.
