Jameis Winston To Miss "A Couple Of Weeks" With Injured Shoulder

Jameis Winston To Miss

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is questionable to return after starting the second half of Sunday's game against the Saints on the bench due to a shoulder injury, the team announced.

Winston required X-rays and an MRI after Sunday's loss to the Saints for the AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder along with a rear deltoid issue, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are shutting down quarterback Jameis Winston for at least two weeks in hopes the condition of his injured throwing shoulder improves.

Bucs coach Dirk Koetter told reporters on Monday Winston is facing a spell out of action, with Ryan Fitzpatrick to replace him as the starter against the New York Jets this weekend.

Man arrested for assaulting US Senator Rand Paul
Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Jeremy Hodges said he could not release details of the assault because of security issues. Hodges did say that Boucher is an acquaintance of Paul, an ophthalmologist who was elected to the Senate in 2010.

This will be the first time in 40 career National Football League games that Winston will miss a start.

In three appearances this season, Fitzpatrick has completed 30-of-48 (62.5 percent) passes for 358 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Koetter said the latest MRI showed "a lot of medical terms that I'm not an expert on, but that he needs to be off for a couple of weeks".

The Bucs are moving Ryan Griffin to the active roster as Fitzpatrick's backup.
