Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

The event witnessed several union ministers, senior officials and others also.

A large number of people, including sports personalities like Sardar Singh, Deepa Karmakar, Suresh Raina and Karnam Malleswari participated in the Run.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das took part in the run in Ranchi on National Unity Day and said that Patels will-power and vision had resulted in approximately 550 self- governing princely states merging with the country.

He was speaking at a function to mark the birth anniversary of Patel and the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi.

Guest speaker Rajiv Lochan, professor in department of history said, "Sardar Patel's contribution is unparalleled as he was the one who fought the slavery ingrained by Britishers".

"It is the responsibility of 125 crore Indians to preserve the unity and integrity of the nation given to us by Sardar Patel".
