Essential Phone is now $200 Cheaper in the US

The Essential Phone launched earlier this year to a bit of a whimper with most highlighting software issues, camera problems and the very expensive price point. Of course, Essential doesn't see it that way and calls the aggressive drop in price a "massive campaign to attract attention". Due to distribution differences, details for Canada to follow. Also, if you purchased an Essential Phone before October 22, the company is offering a $200 Friends & Family code, to use towards a new Essential Phone or Essential 360 Camera. At the time, the price of the phone was $699, but a few days ago some retailers started discounting the device by $100.

The Essential Phone has been given a hefty price cut in the U.S., with $200 shaved of the handsets's expensive $699 original price tag.

With the U.S. price slashed, we can expect to see the lower cost also extend to United Kingdom pricing, which should go someway to help make the phone appeal to people more used to mobiles from giants like Apple and Samsung.
