Sonos One Review: Same sound, more ways to listen

Sonos One Review: Same sound, more ways to listen

The Kansas based company collaborated with Amazon to include Alexa (Amazon's virtual assistant) in the Garmin Speak, creating a Global Positioning System device that is both a navigational tool as well as a personal assistant.

Other voice assistants like Siri and Google Assistant are already in cars, mostly through vehicle settings on smartphones. Over time, Amazon could expand Alexa with proactive capabilities based on items in your lists but this isn't yet supported.

Touted as "the smart speaker for music lovers", the One can control users' Apple Music, Google Play Music, Soundcloud, and several other music services with voice. Basically, the Garmin Speak has a small display that provides users with real-time location, directions, and lane guidance.

Other than that, the Sonos one has no inputs, so unless you have them connected to a Sonos Connect ($349), you can't use them to output audio from your TV. When this update happens, Sonos will become the first third-party speaker to have Alexa control for Spotify.

Using the Speak as a Global Positioning System device can be all done through voice commands.

The company is no longer in the spotlight since consumers' attention switched towards Google Home's and Amazon Echo's voice-controlled speakers. I only wish the Volume Up button was a Plus sign and the Volume Down was a Minus; they're both four dots.

At 6.4 x 4.7 x 4.7 inches, the Sonos One is about the size of a large can of coffee.

The six microphone-array picked up my voice from every room of my admittedly small, two-bedroom apartment.

Great shock from Canada and Mexico to the United States
Right now, this right is reserved for Mexico and Canada. "We couldn't accept it", the Mexican government source said Tuesday. Freeland also made it clear that Canada opposed an American proposal to rewrite how companies resolve disputes.

You have everything you need integrated into the new Sonos One speaker.

Befitting its legacy, the Sonos One speakers sound fantastic for their size. If you're looking for the purest smart assistant experience possible, you'll want to go straight to the source.

In terms of network and power supply, the product offers auto-switching 100-240 V with a 50-60 Hz AC universal input. Most people do not only use these speakers for voice assistance but also to listen to music. And if I split all the rooms apart again, I can stream different music to each room.

The Sonos app guides the setup after that.

The Sonos One is set to release on October 24 and will be selling for $199.

If you are a big entertainer who is in the market for a new speaker to serve as the crown jewel of your entertainment system, I think it's worth waiting to see how the Home Pod and Google Home review. But after just a couple minutes of playing around, I found the interface slick and easy to use. An LED indicator light at the top is also used to indicate when the Sonos One's microphone is active.

Then came the tricky part.

I'm an avid Alexa user.
