"We want to finish the Championship on a high note, every test is important for us", Read told a news conference after the All Blacks concluded their preparations for their last game of this year's southern hemisphere championship.

Coetzee said he knew the areas that required further work: "We had them under pressure at times, but you can not give the ball away against New Zealand".

"I think we did enough to win the game, there were just two points needed for us to get over the line", said Coetzee.

Those odds are kind to the hosts as New Zealand have inflicted massive victories of 41-13, 57-15 and 57-0 over the Springboks in the three Tests Allister Coetzee has been at the helm of the national team.

The coach said the hard work was starting to pay off for the team: "The players are enjoying playing for the Springboks", he said.

The Springboks, ranked fourth, finished the tournament third out of four teams, with two wins against the Pumas, two draws against Australia and two defeats against the All Blacks.
