San Juan Mayor Protests Trump With "Nasty" T-Shirt

San Juan Mayor Protests Trump With

In response, Trump tweeted on Saturday, "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help". "And we're going to have to wipe that out", he said.

When he levied the same insult at Hillary Clinton during the final presidential debate past year, it immediately became a symbol of anti-Trump feminists across the country, inspiring a host of "Nasty Woman" shirts.

We point to the federal government's response to Harvey because of what is happening in the American territory of Puerto Rico, which was shattered two weeks ago after Hurricane Maria roared through the island.

"What really is nasty is showing your back to the Puerto Rican people", Cruz added.

Just last week, Cruz wore a T-shirt that read, "HELP US WE ARE DYING" during an appearance on CNN.

"I'm no stranger to big disasters and this one is extraordinary", Cisneros said.

"The Punta Santiago fishing pier, about a half-mile away and which had survived so many hurricanes before it, was now - quite literally - in Mom's back yard", he wrote in an email updating his friends and family on the USA mainland. "They owe a lot of money to your friends on Wall Street, and we're going to have to wipe that out", Trump said.

Mr Trump was also criticised for playfully lobbing paper towels into a crowd of people at a relief event later that day.

And yet, despite all the attention on the film, so much of Justice League seems to be a mystery for the fans. There are some related questions we may not get answers to at that time, though.

Among the other signs of progress Friday, according to Puerto Rico's government: 78 percent of gas stations up and running, 73 percent of supermarkets open, and more than half of bank branches open.

Musk said in a tweet Thursday that his company's solar technology, which powers several smaller islands, could be scaled up to work for Puerto Rico.

The president and First Lady Melania Trump met survivors in the town of Guaynabo.

During his briefing in San Juan, Trump singled out Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló "for not playing politics" with the response. "And that's fine. We've saved a lot of lives".

The mayor has been a prominent figure since Hurricane Maria started barreling toward Puerto Rico. "Everybody around this table and everybody watching can really be very proud of what's taken place in Puerto Rico".

The island is still grappling with the damage caused by the storm. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and though the situation in Puerto Rico remains dire, the president is clearly not taking it seriously. The governor of Puerto Rico said late Tuesday that the official death toll has been increased to 34 from 16. "They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort".

But Trump also suggested their suffering was partly the fault of officials who had allowed the island's infrastructure and economy to degrade before the hurricanes and said local people should be doing more to help the recovery.

At press time, President Trump was scheduled to visit Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
