Ghana deserved WAFU Cup triumph - Balogun

After Ghana's 4-1 defeat of Nigeria, there were media reports that Enyimba had started talks with the coach, who is also an assistant manager in the main Black Stars' team.

Nigerian football team has lost in a WAFU Cup to Ghana in a match the ended 4-1, played at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana yesterday.

Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Lomotey, has expressed his eagerness to beat Nigeria in the final of the WAFU Cup of Nations final to appease Ghanaian fans after their CHAN failure.

Ghana, however, began to gain a foothold on proceedings, forcing Nigeria goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa into a number of saves before Sarfo broke the deadlock in the 44th minute.

Dazed with the drubbing, the home based Eagles conceded a fourth in the 93rd minute despite Ghana being reduced to 10 men after Atingah was sent off for picking up his second yellow card.

"I think the two best teams of the competition have qualified to the finals and we hope they would give us a better game on Sunday. We have done very well and this is part of our preparation for the CHAN next year".

Jermaine Jenas says Kane needs to do this to be world class
Lukaku has only just arrived at Manchester United and he's not played in the Champions League. Thierry Henry believes Sergio Aguero is the only world-class striker in the Premier League .

"You know we are the defending champions, but that now belongs to history".

Both sides had earlier met in the group stage with Nigeria winning 2-0 to secure qualification into the semi-finals.

Lomotey was in the thick of the action again ten minutes later, pouncing on a loose ball inside the box but he was magnificently denied by the acrobatics of the Nigerian keeper from 14-yards out.

"It won't be an easy game, they won't find it easy as well". This game will be a great opportunity to redeem our image after we failed to qualify for the 2018 CHAN.
