Officials said on Friday that the cost of hosting the race has been reduced to S$135 million ($100 million or 84 million euros).

"We are pleased that the teams and constructors involved in these intensive and complex discussions have reached an agreement satisfactory to all concerned", commented Chase Carey, Chairman and CEO, Formula 1.

Here are some glimpses of the most spectacular Grand Prix.

Now into its 10th edition, the Singapore Grand Prix is the sport's first night race and has been a successful and unique blend of F1 action, its party atmosphere and business networking opportunities.

The new deal backed up Carey's words at the All That Matters industry conference in downtown Singapore this week.

"We're proud of the race, we have a good relationship and our goal is to get to a place where we build on that partnership long-term".

Singapore will host a grand prix until at least 2021 after signing a new contract with Formula 1.

F1 bosses have also negotiated an additional three races, and have extended the deal for three years, to ensure reliable coverage of the main event for the French fans.

"The Singapore Grand Prix, the Singapore Tourism Board and the Singapore Government have all done an excellent job of making this an event that involves the whole city".
