Canelo vows to knock out Golovkin

Alvarez and Golovkin face off for the WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight titles.

Mexican Canelo is the crowd favorite and is looking to prise the undisputed title from long-time Kazakh champ Golovkin, feared the world over for his disproportionately solid punching power, in a matchup being touted as the 'fight of the decade'. Can Canelo "Cinnamon" Alvarez prove that his sole loss against Floyd Mayweather in 2013 was just a bump in the road?

On Saturday, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will take on the unbeaten world middleweight boxing champion, Gennady Golovkin, in what is being billed as the fight of the year in Las Vegas. An official time hasn't been announced, but you can bookmark this page to find out the official start time once it's announced.

So what is Alvarez gets to rattle Golovkin?

Possessing impeccable records and incredible knockout power, both fighters have also promised a "Mexican-style" drama show, having indicated that their intentions are exclusively focused on stopping their opponent, going as far as guaranteeing that this fight will not go the distance.

Alvarez expects Golovkin to bring his A-game, which in turn should bring out the best in him. Alvarez has fought on a much bigger stage against much bigger opponents.

The contest promises to be a fascinating one, and even the styles of the two fighters seem to complement one another, with Golovkin favouring an aggressive attacking approach and Alvarez preferring to sit back and hit on the counter.

Sling TV in the U.S. is offering a special pay-per-view deal for those looking to watch Golovkin vs. Alvarez. You can listen to his podcast, "The Fight Club Chicago", here.

The catch is that this streaming option is not available outside of the US.

The tale of the tape gives us little indication of how the night will unfold, with perhaps age being the only standout factor. With a boxing ring decorating the atmosphere and several mariachis playing Mexican music, the fighters arrived and were met with cameras and journalists.
