Cardinals re-sign Chris Johnson after RB David Johnson put on IR

The Cardinals will have to lean on Kerwynn Williams and Andre Ellington in the running game in Johnson's absence.

For many fantasy football owners, their hearts dropped in Week 1 after Arizona Cardinals superstar running back David Johnson went down with an apparent wrist injury.

It was the 24-yard reception that the health of Johnson was starting to become a question.

The 25-year-old was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's season-opening loss to the Lions. Arians said David Johnson indeed hurt his wrist on the catch near the goal line.

Prior to the last two seasons, Chris Johnson had never missed a game for injury. Without Johnson in the Cardinals backfield, opposing defences will focus on slowing down Arizona's passing game and send even more pressure at Palmer in the pocket. He had tallied 92 total yards on 17 touches. Johnson has a dislocated wrist, and he will seek a second opinion before he and the team determine the next step.

Sanders, co-sponsors to introduce Medicare-for-All bill Wednesday
Warren and Harris, along with Sanders himself, have been discussed as likely candidates for president in 2020. The Vermont independent nearly stole the Democratic presidential nomination from Hillary Clinton past year .

Playing a running back with an injured upper extremity is a coaching decision. Chris Johnson was released in the Cardinals' final roster cuts.

Fantasy Impact As expected, Johnson is missing extended time, 2-3 months to be exact, which translates to an early-November-December return.

Although it's by no means a flawless solution, David Johnson's production in Arizona would have been impossible to replicate.

"It's always a huge blow to lose a top player but it's not the end of the world", Arians said Monday.
