Xiaomi has announced a competitor to the MacBook Pro

Judging by the Mi Notebook Pro's specifications, many experts already agree this is Xiaomi's another shot at Apple. All of that hardware is packed in a rather compact body which is 360.7 x 243.6 x 15.9mm in size and weighs only 1.95kg, making the Mi Notebook Pro a relatively portable offering given its sheer hardware power.

What do you guys make of the Mi Notebook Pro? Last year, the company had launched Xiaomi's Notebook Air laptop and for this year, the company aims to compete against Apple's MacBook Pro with half of its prices. The screen is guarded by Gorilla Glass and boasts 72% NTSC color gamut coverage.

You get all the ports, including HDMI and a headphone jack, a substantially larger backlit keyboard than that of the MacBook Pro, touchpad-integrated fingerprint recognition and a 15.6-inch display with "narrow" bezels. Let us take a closer look at the Mi Notebook Pro specifications and features.

In fact, a durability test during the launch showcased the Mi Notebook Pro being driven over by a scooter and working even after that. The laptop is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 4GHz, and there is an Intel Core i5 variant as well. For $1070, the spec-sheet accommodates for 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA's entry-level GeForce MX150 GPU.
