Forecast: Sunny And Mild All Weekend in NY

TONIGHT: Mostly Clear. Low: 64.

We're in the middle of a many-day stretch of fantastic weather, but so far the best stuff has come during the workweek. Clouds will start to increase throughout the day Tuesday with a few showers possible late. Look for highs in the middle 80s.

Expect overnight lows Friday night to drop into the 40s once again, followed by an afternoon in the 70s on Saturday. Irma has weakened a bit this morning due to the interaction with the rugged terrain along the Cuban Coast.

Famous airport heavily damaged by Irma
Following crisis talks with his Cabinet, Rutte confirmed "there is no power" and the island's "infrastructure is badly damaged". However the beach has been rendered unrecognisable by the Category 5 storm that lashed the island with winds of up to 300km/h.

Today: Mostly sunny and breezy. This general motion is expected to continue over the next 24 hours. Irma's surge will be focused on the western coast and may range between 10 and 15 feet, possibly inundating lowlands several miles away from the ocean.

Maybe a little cooler than yesterday, but still about flawless. Irma may bring some showers as early as Monday evening, but the bulk of the rain will be on Tuesday. We will most likely see some rain, wind and tidal flooding late Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we have a small chance for some isolated showers before working back towards sunshine.

The entire state of Florida will experience devastating winds and 1-2 feet of rain from Irma. Irma will be much weaker by the time it arrives here (especially if the storm tracks over all of Florida). Florida will be greatly impacted, so if you have friends or relatives in Florida, make sure they are prepared. Jose is a category four hurricane located behind Irma. However, Jose has not yet set a course out to sea, so we will have to keep an eye on Jose later next week until the storm's final fate is determined.
