US Open 2017: Superb Kevin Anderson reaches first Grand Slam final

Both men were playing in their first Grand Slam semi-final after coming through a bottom half of the draw that provided an opportunity as soon as second seed Andy Murray succumbed to injury on the eve of the tournament.

Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain is the only semi-finalist who has not dropped a set at the US Open so far. There, I've said it, and I do not care about the hate mob who still believe he is a traitor for putting his career first instead of playing Davis Cup for South Africa.

Kevin Anderson became the first South African to reach the US Open final in the Open era and his reward is a match against world No1 Rafael Nadal on Sunday in NY. It was the first time when Anderson's game was stretched to four sets but the Italian failed to stop Anderson's stunning run at the US Open, losing by 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 4-6. Anderson has won just one set against Nadal in all four meetings, and this is their fourth match on hard court.

Anderson was soon 5-4 ahead, hitting his 100th ace of the tournament in the process before leveling the tie in the 12th game courtesy of a Carreno Busta double fault and a fierce backhand victor. Anderson won the match in straight sets, 6-3 7-6 but dropped his serve twice on that occasion. Their only other clash was in 2013 on Casablanca clay, which Anderson won 6-3, 6-3. And now I am in the semi-finals of the US Open, and I think it is as important as if Rafa arrives to the semi-finals. It was an unbelievably tough match, I was pretty nervous starting out.

I am proud of Kevin for sticking it out and surviving in one of the toughest global sports.

"I need to be very focused with my serve and play aggressive", Nadal said, "because if you let him play from good positions with his forehand, you are dead". It is a first-ever Grand Slam semifinal for both men in the second match on Arthur Ashe. "It means the world to me".

Samsung said the device has also gone through extensive testing so it won't suffer the same fate as last year's fire-prone Note 7. Samsung Galaxy C8 is a Dual-SIM smartphone and have a Metallic design which looks as premium as one on the flagship devices.

He was broken in the ninth game of the first set and trailed off the bat.

Anderson was late to the Tour after choosing to go to college in the United States, at the University of IL, where he was coached by Craig Tiley. He had to save two match points and come back from two sets down to beat sixth seed Dominic Thiem in the last 16. Del Potro was the U.S. Open champion in 2009, when he beat Nadal in the semifinals and Roger Federer in the final. While he hasn't faced any higher-ranked players, it is the confident way in which he has won all the matches that has been impressive.

Kevin Anderson faces an uphill battle against world No. 1 Rafael Nadal at Flushing Meadows, New York, on Sunday.

I like Nadal to win another grand slam title.

Starting the fourth set serving, it was a bright start for Carreno Busta as he looked to have regained his composure and found the momentum.
