In his statement to police, Hupperterz "admitted to elements of the crime", Philadelphia Police said during the press conference.

Burleigh's sister, Janelle Burleigh, posted another image of Burleigh on Facebook on Friday morning asking that users share the post and call her or their father if anyone has seen or heard from Jenna.

Joshua Hupperterz, a 29 year old former Temple student, has been arrested and is being charged with the murder of Jenna Burleigh.

When Joshua Hupperterz left a North Philadelphia bar early Thursday morning, he was caught by a surveillance camera walking with a young woman. According to the autopsy, she was killed in Philadelphia and then she was taken there about 100 miles away from her last known location. According to investigators, a detective contacted Hupperterz to ask him what he knew about Burleigh's disappearnace. A message left at a number listed in his name wasn't immediately returned.

Jenna Burleigh was reported missing Friday after disappearing from a popular bar near the Temple campus early Thursday.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Philadelphia police searched Hupperterz's North Philadelphia home - not far from Pub Webb - discovering "10 to 15 pillowcase size bags of marijuana" and $20,000 in cash, as well as blood splattered about the home.

Until 2:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 2, all dogs now at the shelter and over six-months of age will be free to adopt. Anyone who wants to help but can't bring in pets should donate to animal rescue programs in Texas, Bird said.

Multiple news outlets also reported Saturday that police began searching a home along the 800 block of Waverly Avenue in Jenkintown, according to multiple reports. The murder does not appear to be premeditated, investigators said.

There was no indication Hupperterz and Burleigh knew each other previously, he added. At the same time, state police went to the home of Hupperterz's grandmother in a small Wayne County borough in northern Pennsylvania and took him into custody.

"This really strikes home for you, particularly, thinking about the heartache and the grief that those parents must be going through right now", said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross, adding that he also has a 22-year-old daughter.

"She literally started classes on Monday", Betzner said.

Burleigh, of Harleysville, transferred to Temple last week from Montgomery County Community College and was a commuter student.
