Fox Searchlight has released the first official red band teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel, "Super Troopers 2". Written and directed by Jay Chandrasekhar with his Broken Lizard pals, the sequel finds the whole gang of Vermont state troopers in a quarrel with Canada over the borderline. But maybe just existing is all Super Troopers 2 needs to be considered a success. The film contributed catchphrases to the lexicon, as well as several memorable characters. The troupe have produced several other films since Super Troopers, including Club Dread and Beer League, but none entered the zeitgeist the way Troopers did.

Super Troopers the original was left in a basket on our doorsteps all the way back in 2002. There are a couple of solid jokes to be found here, and one imagines fans of the cult-favorite original movie will be happy to jump back into the Super Troopers world once again. Why, that's Farva (Kevin Heffernan) of course, who can always be counted on for unending amounts of enthusiasm.

The Principality club have already sold Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy this summer, while Kylian Mbappe looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain.

In the sequel, border disputes between the US and Canada lead to the Super Troopers getting called in to set up a new station in the contested area.

What reasons are there to be skeptical? Law enforcement officials misusing their power means something very different, culturally, in 2017 than it did in 2002, and it isn't quite as amusing.
