Exeter Hospital Partially Evacuated After Staff Members Became Ill

Ambulances were called to Exeter Hospital and patients were evacuated.

The cause of the staff members' sickness at the New Hampshire hospital remained a mystery Friday afternoon, officials said.

Aerial images show several hospital beds with patients in a roped off area outside the hospital.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the odor.

Exeter Hospital spokeswoman Debra Vasapolli said staff members in the operating room began experiencing symptoms of dizziness and nausea around 8:30 a.m.

Levallois-Perret Mayor Patrick Balkany told BFMTV it was an "odious attack " and said it was "without a doubt a deliberate act". The man was stopped as police were hunting for the auto , believed to be a BMW , that was involved in the attack .

Epping Fire said it was dispatched for a "carbon monoxide problem".

The emergency room and operating room are closed, but the rest of the hospital is open.

No patients experienced any symptoms but six were transported from the emergency room, she added.

"We are working with the local fire and police departments and we're now transferring patients", she said shortly before 12:30 p.m. In an abundance of caution we evacuated the OR and closed it'.

He said the OR patients were moved to the ER until it was also shut down, at which point a staging area was set up outside the hospital.
