Trump has 'some frustration' with Senate leader

One of those "early timelines" is Trump's pressure on Congress to approve a plan to repeal and replace the embattled Affordable Care Act. "It's pretty obvious on health care our problem was not the Democrats", McConnell said on August 1. Chris Coons to introduce a measure Thursday that would make it more hard for a president to fire any special counsel - retroactive to Mueller's appointment in May.

"Attacking Mitch McConnell is the most gobsmackingly stupid thing the president has done yet".

A massive tax reform package should have been done by now, based on Trump's initial timetable, and an infrastructure package should have been on the way. Trump has made a decision to blame the Kentucky Republican Senator for the GOP's failure to repeal and replace ObamaCare, after seven years of telling voters it was their main objective.

Trump took to Twitter to criticise the lack of action by the Senate, and he has since been disgruntled at McConnell's inability to deliver on the healthcare overhaul. He's also complaining about what he calls President Trump's "excessive expectations" when it comes to the pace of congressional legislation.

"Our new president, of course, has not been in this line of work before", McConnell said Monday.

He insisted he was a victim of a conspiracy, but he avoided a direct answer when asked who conspired against him. The PML-N has planned a "million march" to protest against Sharif's disqualification in the Panama Papers case.

Trump's tweet about McConnell echoed one sent earlier Wednesday by Dan Scavino, his director of social media. "There is a cautionary tale there because voters want you to support the president in his agenda", McDaniel said this week. "Obviously there's some frustration".

The tweet continued a theme Trump began Wednesday when he questioned why Republicans haven't been able to repeal and replace Obamacare - an effort that began soon after the law was passed in 2010 - despite now controlling Congress and the executive branch.

On energy, Trump is waiting for the McConnell-led Senate to confirm his nomination of Washington lawyer Kevin McIntyre as FERC chairman. And Republicans are gearing up for a big push on tax reform. That's because all of them had political careers long before Trump became a serious force within the party. "We have a number of things to do in September", he said.

Picking fights with the Senate GOP leader - after Trump's on-again-off-again relationship with House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) - show how hard it will be for Republicans to reach the goals on their agenda heading into the fall.
