Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry Being Investigated For Battery

No decision is expected this week on charges.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry is now under investigation by police for battery after an incident with his girlfriend, Dolphins coach Adam Gase told the media.

A star wide receiver is under investigation.

In a statement released by Landry's sports management firm, his girlfriend Estrella Cerqueira said that the pair "had a vocal disagreement" in March.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase told reporters gathered to cover training camp on Monday that the team is aware of the investigation. Landry was up front with the team, as far as they know, as soon as the alleged incident occurred.

South Africa MPs in secret ballot on Zuma
Zuma has already survived seven no-confidence votes since he became president in 2009, but they were held on open ballots. This shows the utter desperation of our detractors. "We have confidence in our members".

The dispute involved Landry's girlfriend, who is the mother of his daughter, according to a report from WINZ radio's Andy Slater. The latter did not, however, wanted to cooperate with law enforcement authorities.

Landry has an open paternity court case with his girlfriend in Broward.

"There were no arrests made, there were no criminal charges, I was not in any way physically harmed", the statement read, with Cerqueira noting that the couple is going through a civil family court case.

This is now an opportunity for the Miami Dolphins to continue to hold off on extending the contract of Jarvis Landry. He is heading into the final year of his rookie contract.

Landry totaled 1,809 yards and 15 touchdowns over his three seasons with the Tigers. He has been a star for the Dolphins, and holds the National Football League record for the most receptions in a player's first two seasons (with a current career total of 288 receptions).
