Having Jerry Rice wouldn't prevent Bills GM from signing Anquan Boldin

Having Jerry Rice wouldn't prevent Bills GM from signing Anquan Boldin

Boldin is expected to compete for the role of No. 2 wide receiver opposite Sammy Watkins.

Veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin is signing with the Buffalo Bills for the 2017 season.

Boldin struggled to get separation from defenders last season, but he continued to be reliable, catching 67 passes for 584 yards and a team-high 8 touchdowns for the Lions.

Taylor, of course, spent his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens after being selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Boldin, who turns 37 in October, turned in a very nice season with the Lions in 2016.

South Africa MPs in secret ballot on Zuma
Zuma has already survived seven no-confidence votes since he became president in 2009, but they were held on open ballots. This shows the utter desperation of our detractors. "We have confidence in our members".

Boldin had visited the Bills on July 24, and both general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott said they were pleased with the meeting, and were hopeful something could be worked out.

Instead, Boldin will combine with former teammate and quarterback Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo where he'll likely be used in the same exact way.

Boldin is 14th in National Football League history in receiving yards with 13,779 - needing just 120 yards to move past Cris Carter for 13th - and is second to Larry Fitzgerald (14,389) among active players. "Listen, I've been a big Anquan fan from afar". Even if I had Jerry Rice and guys like that, getting a guy like Anquan is an addition. The 36-year-old also won a Super Bowl title with the Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII against the 49ers.

For more from Beane on Boldin, see the attached video above. You're talking about a (Walter Payton) Man of the Year and he's ninth all-time in receptions.
