Donald Trump Had a Tough Week. Putin Went Sunbathing in Siberia

A fishing pole was an essential part of the luggage he took to a lake in the Tyva Republic in southern Siberia, where he stayed from Tuesday to Thursday.

In the images, Putin relaxes with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu as the two catch some sun.

'It was a very brief, but very eventful trip, ' according to presidential spokesman.

"On August 1-3, on his way to Blagoveshchensk, Putin made a near two-day stop in Tyva, in southern Siberia, to camp in a dense forest, fish on a cascade of mountain lakes, hunt fish underwater, sunbathe, hike, and go quadricycling in the mountains", Peskov said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin displayd his catch while he was on vacation.

Doping: the president of the Russian athletics Federation apologizes
The IAAF Congress voted earlier on Thursday to extend the suspension term of the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF).

"He went hunting underwater with a mask and snorkel ..."

All video and photo materials of the trip, including the pike hunting footage, are going to be available for the general public in the nearest future, Peskov said.

Back in December, Russian President Putin decided not to respond to sanctions imposed by the outgoing USA administration and act in accordance with the ties built with the new U.S. leadership. The image has contributed to his popularity in the country.

Putin has become infamous for his macho posturing in publicity pictures, which political analysts say aim to portray the president as vigorous and healthy, in contrast to the elderly leaders of the Soviet Union or his frequently drunk predecessor Boris Yeltsin.

Trump has been president for about 200 days now, and it seems like a day hasn't gone by without "Russia" (as in "Russian investigation") being mentioned in the news.
