Pence restates Trump pledge to move embassy to Jerusalem

"We have no better friends on earth than you".

This came as welcome news given that Trump signed a six-month waiver last month to keep the embassy in Tel Aviv. Netanyahu addressed the issue of the USA embassy and of other embassies in Israel, calling once again for the move of embassies to Jerusalem.

The PM also stressed the importance of moving worldwide embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem: "Tel Aviv is a wonderful city, but it's not Jerusalem", he said. Chicago is a great city. Because the capital of Israel is Jerusalem, he announced that the "embassies of the world should be in Jerusalem". "And I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem".

This statement was indeed a welcome one to the members of CUFI, the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the United States.

Since Israel's founding, Pence continued, "the Jewish people have awed the world with their strength of will and their strength of character". Neighboring Islamic countries have also posed a significant threat to Israel, such as Iran's open sponsorship of terrorism against the country.

Israel, the prime minister told the cheering crowd, "is the bulwark of freedom in heart of the Middle East".

"Now we're engaged, as we speak, in a great struggle", Netanyahu said.

"It's a struggle of civilizations". "They hate Israel because of the west - because we represent a free society built on the foundation of Judeo-Christian heritage". The militant Sunnis led by ISIS, the militant Shi'ites led by Iran.

Many evangelicals look upon the founding of the modern state of Israel in 1948 and the "ingathering" of the Jews as a necessary step toward the end times, when they believe Jews either will accept Christianity or face eternal damnation.

However, since taking office, President Donald Trump and his administration seem to be doing everything they can to not only fix the tarnished relationship, but to show Americans the grave importance of our alliance with Israel.

"People often make a mistake in conventional discussions when they used to say, or they used to say, that militant Islamists hate the West because of Israel", Netanyahu explained. Its actually the other way around. During his speech, Pence cited his longstanding relationship with the group, saying he had spoken before them as a member of Congress and worked with them on legislation he signed as governor against the boycott, divestment and sanction movement, a campaign to put economic pressure on Israel over the treatment of Palestinians. "This is the society they despise so much".
