How to Use the Nintendo Switch Online App

After the free trial had ended, Nintendo Account holders will have to pay for continued service: $3.99 for a month, $7.99 for three months, or $19.99 for a year.

Voice chat, for instance, requires that your phone be unlocked with the app running.

The Nintendo Switch Online app is free, as is the online functionality for Splatoon 2.

Splatoon was one of the very few new Nintendo franchises to have found success in the doomed-from-the-start history of the Wii U console, in large part because of its addicting online gameplay.

As of now, only Splatoon 2 The multiplayer shooter has a hub called SplatNet2, which players can only access through the Switch Online mobile app.

Advisory Evacuations, Road Closures Due to The Long Valley Fire
The fire started about 4PM July 16, 2017 along Detwiller Road and Hunters Valley Road, two miles east of Lake McClure. Update 1:40 p.m.: The Laverne Fire in the Happy Valley area has reached 10 acres according to CAL FIRE Shasta County.

Do take note that according to Polygon, it seems that Nintendo is working on stabilizing the app's servers which means that you might experience some connectivity issues for now, but presumably it will stabilize eventually. The app is undergoing maintenance, presumably to get ready for its full launch alongsideSplatoon 2.

If you've ever owned a Nintendo console, you'll know that online services has never been the company's area of expertise.

How much does Nintendo Switch Online cost? SplatNet 2 displays information like stage schedules, gear and stats, and even lets you view your lifetime inkage, a feature that shows how much turf a player has inked compared to real-world places.

Splatoon 2 features better graphics than its predecessor, in addition to several improvements. GameSpot and Polygon both gave the game an 8 out of 10, while US Gamer and GamesRadar both gave it a 4 out of 5.

As for the game itself: the inaugural Splatoon 2 Splatfest ended in victory for the forces of Ice Cream - coinciding (?) with National Ice Cream Day.
