President Trump: Vladimir Putin Would Have Preferred Hillary Clinton as President

The document was submitted to the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday evening, the Reuters news agency reported.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said he wanted the North Korea sanctions added to the bill.

The House version of a bill that intends to dramatic limit the ability of President Trump to ease sanctions on Russian Federation appears to be effectively stalled, as the House leadership attempts to re-do the bill, adding new sanctions against North Korea to it.

But both Republican and Democratic House aides said talks between the two parties were continuing and there was a decent chance for a quick compromise, more so because of the latest revelations about Trump's eldest son.

House Republican leaders want to attach a bill increasing sanctions on North Korea to legislation to restrain the president and stiffen punitive measures against Russian Federation and Iran, a last-minute wrinkle that could further delay the bill's progress through Congress. The procedure for its adoption in Congress was suspended due to the constitutional requirement that all legislative initiatives concerning budget expenditures should be endorsed first in the lower, and then in the upper house.

The Russia sanctions measure passed by the Senate is part of a broader bill that also includes new sanctions on Iran.

"I don't think they're really relevant to our bill and I would just as soon keep our bill focused on the troops and national security", the Texas Republican told CNN.

The government said the 1959 letter written by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to his counterpart Zhou Enlai was being quoted "out of context" by China.

Lawmakers have said the January settlement left open questions as to who may have been involved in the trading scheme, where the money was sent, and who may have benefited from the sums of money transferred out of Russian Federation. "They prove that the Trump campaign was not only aware of the Russian government's efforts to meddle in our elections, they were enthusiastic about accepting Russian support".

"I don't like that, I want to protect the prerogatives of the minorities in the House, but weighing the equities, what was more important was passing the Russia-Iran sanctions bill", she said.

"This week we saw cold, hard evidence of the Trump campaign, indeed the Trump family, eagerly intending to collude, possibly, with Russia-a hostile foreign power-to influence American elections", House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told news conference on Thursday.

House Republicans are considering combining a North Korean sanctions bill with the Senate's Russian Federation sanctions legislation, an idea that drew sharp criticism from Democrats. The White House has blamed Democrats for obstructing Trump's qualified nominees.

AshLee Strong, a spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan, said Democrats still were objecting to moving the bill in its current form.

However, another influential K Street presence - the American Israel Public Affairs Committee - is pressing for quick action on the bipartisan Iran sanctions bill to which the Russian Federation penalties are attached.

"That's what Putin doesn't like about me", the United States president stated.

"Each of us standing here is asking House Republicans to take a stand", Watson Coleman said.
