Trump's Border Wall Shrinks Again

Trump's Border Wall Shrinks Again

Donald Trump's famous wall along the US-Mexico border will have to be transparent to help passers-by avoid being hit by bags of drugs, the US President has told reporters.

"Look, there's no better place for solar than the Mexico border - the southern border", Trump said.

"On the DHS side it's clear that we've gotten a direction to secure the southern border, that a wall and barrier is part of that process along with people and technology and that funding from Congress is required for us to move forward on that", he said. The GOP-led panels concurred with some of Trump's request, such as his down payment on a U.S. -Mexico border wall, while rejecting others such as a significant reduction in medical research. The president also said that the wall should be transparent so that border guards could see into Mexico.

"They hit you on the head with 60 pounds of stuff", he said. "It's over", he said.

On his flight to France earlier this week, with the White House press pool in tow on Air Force One, Trump opened up about his "beautiful" wall in what was originally an off-the-record session.

Democrats strongly oppose the wall and funding for Trump proposals such as 1,000 additional immigration agents and say additional funding is needed for domestic programs and foreign aid. "You have mountains. You have some rivers that are violent and vicious", he told reporters.

'Plus we have some wall that's already up that we're already fixing.

As Trump 'abdicates,' Climate Alliance picks up slack
Bloomberg's charitable activities, including his foundation and his personal giving. The initiative announced Wednesday is called "America's Pledge".

The entire conversation was supposed to be off the record, until Trump, according to the Times, changed the rules in the middle of the exchange and put the entire thing-including his comments about the importance of transparency in building the border wall-on the record for the world to see.

Why would Trump want the wall to be see-though, you might be asking yourself. But it slashed USA payments to the United Nations by $600 million and cut funding for multilateral organizations focused on topics such as climate change and debt relief by more than 60 percent.

US Customs and Border Protection said two weeks ago that the agency plans to select four to eight firms in the coming weeks to build the prototypes, and that the companies should complete construction in San Diego by September. Mexico's president has said that won't happen.

The border, which stretches across four U.S. states, already has 600 miles (965 km) of barriers, including fences and walls.

Mehlman also wants Trump to abolish the so-called DACA program, which enables around 800,000 people to remain in the United States who came to the country as children. "We're going to build that wall, or you'll know the name of every Republican who surrenders to the Democrats to break my filibuster".

And for that, Mr. President, we thank you.
