Top draft pick Markelle Fultz signs contract with Philadelphia 76ers

Markelle Fultz's ankle sprain may not be as serious as initially feared, but according to reports, it will still be enough to end his NBA Summer League season. Philadelphia traded up to take Fultz, sending the No. 3 overall pick and next year's Los Angeles Lakers first-round draft choice to the Boston Celtics for the top overall selection. He was helped off the floor as an all-too familiar feeling of Deja Vu swarmed over Philadelphia, just as it has over and over again during the team's relentless attempt to realize the dream of "The Process".

"Can't feel great, a guy going down, actually two players going down on the same play", Colangelo told Shelburne.

I think every single Philadelphia 76ers fan on the planet threw out a few expletives as they either saw or heard about the injury to first-overall pick Markelle Fultz.

The 76ers were playing in a Summer League game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, and with 8 minutes, 26 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Fultz ran through the lane trying to making a running block from behind. The team said Fultz will be further evaluated. He required surgery and was expected to return in early 2017 - and then February of 2017.

Williams overpowered the youngster in the tie-break, though, coming from 3-0 down with seven unanswered points. Konta once said that if she had a house, she would remortgage it to go see rock band U2.

The Sixers have serious problems with injuries to their rookies.

Center Joel Embiid, the No. 3 overall pick in 2014, missed his first two National Basketball Association seasons with foot injuries and sat out 51 games last season.

But the fact that Sixers fans will now have to wait before seeing their draft night prize back in action may be the worst of it.
