I'm Too Ill to Fight at UFC 213

Just minutes after bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes pulled out of Saturday's rematch against Valentina Shevchenko after being hospitalized for an illness, Jedrzejczyk reached out to UFC president Dana White to plead her case about becoming Nunes' replacement.

Nunes (14-4) won the belt almost a year ago when she submitted then-champion Miesha Tate with a first round rear-naked choke at UFC 200. It is unclear when the Las Vegas-based promotion might rebook the rematch.

"It felt like it was me against the world", Nunes said of fighting Rousey (via Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports).

Romero of course is now gearing up for his UFC 213 scrap with Robert Whittaker Saturday night, in a fight which will crown the middleweight #1 contender. The 29-year-old has won five straight fights.

There she stood in the center of the Octagon, her waist wrapped in gold, only slightly less faceless than she was when she first entered. These two met before back in March of past year.

Valentina Shevchenko has no idea how many countries she has visited or how many millions of miles she has covered in her lifelong pursuit of insight, enlightenment and new martial arts skills. I think that is maybe the more intriguing fight in a lot of ways.

Again, we can likely assume that a few more people are aware of Nunes's existence following her win over Rousey.

After angering China, Trump talks with its leader about North Korea
Xi's willingness to take the call appeared to suggest he was not ready to escalate tension with the United States over the North. Trump also said, equally remarkably, that he didn't want to alienate a partner in containing North Korea .

The Brazilian champion was feeling ill during fight week and was in hospital earlier today ahead of her fight according to MMAfighting.com's Ariel Helwani, which led to her being forced out of the fight. "I've proven myself. I've dominated in the best division".

With the bout confirmed in May due to the champion Michael Bisping's current injury status, a win for either competitor does not only represent a chance at UFC gold for the first time in their careers, but also a guaranteed shot at the middleweight title which is yet to be defended since October 2016. "It's very important to me to keep this belt".

Shevchenko on what holes she sees in Nunes' game: "It's not about her". I was made for this.

Nunes-Shevchenko may be on the billboard, but they're not the only ones.

"I will leave my blood, if I have to I leave my blood and walk away with this belt", Nunes said. The crescendo of this week's festivities will be Saturday's main card, featuring two of the best heavyweights, two of the best middleweights and the two best female bantamweights in the world.

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and top middleweight contender Yoel Romero have a rather lengthy, and very public, rivalry going back quite some time now.
