Girl's actions caused her to fall from NY park ride

A 14-year-old girl is recovering after falling almost 20 feet from the SkyRide at Six Flags The Great Escape amusement park.

The Sheriff's Office did not say what the girl was doing and how she ended up hanging from the ride in the first place.

A teenage girl's actions, not mechanical malfunctions, caused her to slip under a restraining bar on an amusement park gondola ride before falling into the arms of bystanders below, police said Monday.

Amateur video was caught by Loren Lent, who told WRGB-TV people gathered beneath the young woman in an effort to help.

A 47-year-old man was also hospitalized after suffering a back injury while attempting to catch the girl, Sky News reports. Her little brother was shaken up but uninjured otherwise, she said. Among them was Matthew Howard, who was yelling, "It's OK to let go".

Law enforcement have been left wondering how a 14-year-old girl managed to fall from a ride at Six Flags Great Escape over the weekend.

Jeff Horn's 10-point plan to beat Pacquiao
Pacquiao said he was looking forward to what should be a parochial home crowd. He has good amateur experience", Pacquiao told The Courier-Mail website.

If you haven't seen it, in the video that's gone viral, you see a teenager dangling from the sky-ride.

"I said: 'It's 'OK!" Winchell says she caught the girl's head and they all tumbled to the ground.

She was rushed onto a golf cart and transported to Glen Falls Hospital, then Albany Medical Center, according to the AP.

"Sheriff's investigators assisted by park personnel inspected the ride and the vehicle the victim was riding in and found that everything was in proper working order and all safety equipment was intact and operational at the time of the incident", the police document said.

The ride was stopped after the operator was told of a rider in distress, CBS reported.

"We are reviewing our internal procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and team members", the official concluded.
