Curry, Durant committed to keeping Golden State on top

Curry, Durant committed to keeping Golden State on top

"No, not really. I don't believe I've played for a super-team", James said.

Golden State wanted their title back and signed All-Star Kevin Durant away from Oklahoma City so a team as talented and as explosive as the Warriors suddenly had two former NBA MVPs in Stephen Curry and Durant, both young, talented, hungry and in their 20s.

Through five games against a superteam constructed specifically to defeat him, LeBron became the first player in National Basketball Association history to average a triple-double in The Finals, sporting a split line of 33.6 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists per game.

James, who has the most triple-doubles in NBA Finals at eight, said the Cavaliers struggled to stay healthy throughout the season, which was a setback come playoffs. (Wow, I just felt like Magic Johnson's Twitter account writing that.) But in truth, every NBA Finals has its own winners and losers, beyond just one team hoisting the Larry O'Brien trophy, and the other going home to sulk as the runner-up.

But Durant was quick to congratulate last year's champions. LeBron is now third in all-time Finals scoring.

Cleveland battled back to keep the score close heading into the fourth quarter, but Golden State proved to be too much down the stretch.

"I knew it was going to be a battle I just tried to challenge him - you can't stop the guy".

Durant was once again the best player on the floor for the Warriors on Monday, hitting some timely three-pointers en route to a team-high 39 points.

LeBron James was remarkable in defeat, however. We kept the lead at 6, 8 points, or the deficit. Along with Curry that day were Iguodala, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Now we are left to an offseason of people wondering just how long this dynasty could last.

As a player, Kerr won five championships and was a member of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team led by Michael Jordan that won a then-league-record 72 games and beat the Seattle SuperSonics in the Finals. Owners decided previous year to help teams retain their star free agents, and the Warriors are poised to exploit the changes in order to dominate the future following their 2017 NBA Finals win.

"I'm just happy for him".
