Trump acknowledges for first time he's under investigation

The FBI is also conducting a parallel probe, which reportedly includes special counsel Robert Mueller looking into whether the president obstructed justice.

Mueller, who served as Federal Bureau of Investigation director for 12 years, was tapped to head the probe by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who penned a memo justifying Comey's termination.

Mr Trump previously claimed he was the victim of a "witch hunt" in May after Mr Mueller, a former FBI director, was appointed to lead an investigation into his campaign's alleged ties to Russian Federation.

Rosenstein in a memo to Trump raised concerns over FBI Director James Comey.

In a later tweet, the president seemed to confirm he is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice.

"After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my "collusion with the Russians", nobody has been able to show any proof".

"You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

The White House has directed questions for details to outside legal counsel, which has not responded.

But she did say her previous collaboration with Kylie provided a good model for anticipating the sales for her upcoming release. But would any of these people "in the business" even tell her if they thought she was doing something a little tone deaf? News.

Trump was strongly critical of some of Comey's testimony but said Comey had vindicated him by saying while he was at the agency, Trump was not the subject of the FBI's Russian Federation probe.

A close Trump associate said this week the president was considering firing Mueller, although the White House later denied it.

President Donald Trump says it's "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.

Trump has called The Washington Post report a "phony story" and a "WITCH HUNT".

It also asks former transition officials to retain records related to five former Trump campaign associates: former campaign chairman Paul Manafort; his deputy Rick Gates; former foreign policy adviser Carter Page; retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn; and Roger Stone, a longtime Trump adviser.

Several legal experts told Reuters that Comey's testimony last week that Trump expected loyalty and told Comey he hoped he could drop an investigation of a former top aide could bolster obstruction of justice allegations against Trump. "Nice", Trump wrote in his first tweet.

Earlier this month, Rosenstein told The Associated Press that "if anything that I did winds up being relevant to his investigation then, as Director Mueller and I discussed, if there's a need from me to recuse, I will".
