Trump appears to confirm he's under investigation

President Donald Trump complained on social media about the wide-ranging investigation of Russian interference in the USA election as Robert Mueller appeared to widen his probe to include whether Trump tried to obstruct justice. Comey testified in a Senate hearing last week that he believed he was sacked "because of the Russian Federation investigation".

Shortly afterward, Trump wrote: "Crooked H destroyed phones with hammer, "bleached" emails, and had husband meet with AG days before she was cleared- and they talk about obstruction?"

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that the investigation has reached a turning point and will no longer just focus on possible collusion between Trump campaign aides and the Kremlin, but it will also investigate any possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

"Mueller is setting up a dragnet of obstruction, financial questions and every aspect of Trump's life and his associates lives", Gingrich wrote on Twitter, adding "very unsafe". He has already been subpoenaed by the House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee.

CNN is suing the Justice Department for copies of fired FBI Director James Comey's personal memos on his interactions with President Donald Trump.

The order from the general counsel for the transition team casts a wide net on documents that could shed light on ties between Trump's presidential campaign and representatives of Russia's government.

United States intelligence agencies concluded in a report issued in January that Russian Federation interfered in the presidential race to try to help Trump win, in part by hacking and releasing emails damaging to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Trump later contradicted his own staff, saying on May 11 he had the Russian Federation issue in mind when he fired Comey. It cited five people briefed on the requests by Mueller's team who spoke on condition of anonymity. "Nice", Trump wrote in his first tweet. Those officials are: Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence; Michael Rogers, the head of the National Security Agency; and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director.

Before the shooting, he allegedly asked people gathered there, " Are these the Republicans or the Democrats? ". In the contest for chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, House Republicans elected Rep.

Vice President Mike Pence has also hired a private lawyer to represent his interests in the expanding probe. It was not clear why he attributed the report to an Federal Bureau of Investigation leak.

Trump responded to reports he is personally being investigated for obstruction of justice with a characteristic scorched earth defense: claiming mistreatment of historic proportions and calling into question the probity of his accusers.

"The Fake News Media hates when I use what has turned out to be my very powerful Social Media - over 100 million people! I can go around them".

The Senate judiciary committee does plan to investigate whether there was any interference with the FBI investigations, and the panel's chairman, Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley, has not ruled out investigating obstruction of justice as part of the probe.

"After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my "collusion with the Russians", nobody has been able to show any proof".

Trump has called The Washington Post report a "phony story" and a "WITCH HUNT".
