Browns sign rookie TE Davis Njoku, 1 of first-round picks

The hope here is that Garrett will be back by the start of training camp later this summer.

Jabrill Peppers, the 25th overall draft selection, is the only Browns' pick without a contract.

A photograph of what appears to be Garrett wearing a walking boot on his left leg at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport surfaced on Twitter late Friday morning. He's in a walking boot and will receive treatment before the Browns open training camp on July 27.

It's good news for the Browns, who were concerned when Garrett went down without any contact while rushing quarterback Brock Osweiler during a two-minute drill.

The injury to Garrett occurred on the same left foot that he suffered a high ankle sprain on last season at Texas A&M which limited his production. "Until then, just going hard, making sure we know the plays and making sure we're going full speed so we have the correct conditioning for when that time comes". So you know it sucks, but it's part of the game.

Rookie defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi added Garrett will "bounce back".

Ogunjobi, a third-round pick, said Garrett has handled the setback well. You kind of have to keep him in high spirits, you keep him going and you know he's good. It's just part of life.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been happy with what he's seen from Garrett so far.

The deal is projected to be worth $9.5 million and includes a $5.06 million signing bonus. "I've got a big smile on my face, I'm just waiting to let him show everybody before I talk about him". Garrett was a three-year starter at Texas A&M, where he received top All-American and SEC honors.
