Kiwis beat British to reach America's Cup challenger finals

Racing in the America's Cup semi-finals was postponed by the organisers on Wednesday due to winds above the maximum allowed for a race to take place in the competition.

"I was very thankful when I was sitting up top to be able to look out the back and see all their heads above water and know they're all safe", said Burling, a 26-year-old Olympic gold and silver medalist.

"Three New Zealand sailors were thrown into the water, with the other three stranded in mid-air as the boat was pulled on to its side and then upright", he adds.

The winners of the series are set to progresses to the challenger final and whoever wins that takes on defending champions Team USA for the America's Cup itself.

"The main emotion is an enormous pride in what we have achieved in two years. we started with nothing", Barker told a televised news briefing.

As Ainslie steered his boat across the line, he commended the crew for its best day. Although it remained to be seen just how extensive the damage was, he said, "we feel like we'll be able to fix it and get back into action".

Reports say Mueller probe now examining possible obstruction
It bears repeating that only Mueller and his team know the exact contours of an investigation. And frankly, James Comey confirmed a lot of what I said.

"We didn't ultimately get that America's Cup home", he said.

"We're bitterly disappointed to lose races and not continue in the America's Cup but that's sport and the America's Cup is a tough game".

The America's Cup, the oldest competition in worldwide sport, was first raced in 1851 around the Isle of Wight and has only been won by four nations.

If Oracle Team USA or Artemis Racing win, a framework has been agreed among five of the teams for taking it through to the next event, once again in the high-octane foiling catamarans which have proved popular with sailors and broadcasters.

Outteridge had been having an excellent day, winning the start against Burling in all three races, but thanks to his dip, and another error in the first race, his team now find themselves behind. Two years ago, Fuku and I met here in Bermuda to try and figure out how we were going to put a team together and I think the group that was assembled and the support we've had from Japan has been incredible. When Japan slowed to clear the penalty, Artemis sailed way ahead.

In the buildup to the 2013 America's Cup, British Olympic star Andrew "Bart" Simpson was killed when Artemis Racing's 72-foot catamaran broke apart during a test run on San Francisco Bay.
