California victor of $447M Powerball can claim prize Monday

According to the California Lottery website, the ticket was sold at Marietta Liquor & Deli.

"We're so blessed for this to happen", Alberre told The Associated Press.

The last First State Powerball victor was last December when a winning ticket worth almost $121 million was sold at a Selbyville gas station. "Starting out the year, it seemed like it was going to be the worst year in the world, and six months later, our store hit the Powerball", he added.

The deli sold the winning ticket for Saturday's $447.8 million grand prize drawing, the 10th largest lottery prize in USA history.

In California, retailers receive a $1 million retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.

No one has won the jackpot since April 1, thus the reason for its large size. Those figures are just the amounts withheld up front; your final tax burden is likely to be even higher.
