According to a statement made by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, at roughly 5:45 a.m. EDT on June 13, two state prisoners escaped from a prisoner transport bus on GA 16 between Eatonton and Sparta in Putnam county.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced a $60,000 reward for help in capturing two escaped inmates accused of killing two correctional officers.
