Barcelona 'lining up £88m Marco Verratti bid'

The Italian midfielder is pushing for a move out of PSG after a disappointing season where the club failed to defend their Ligue 1 title and were knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage.

Reports are circling that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti wants out with Barcelona keen on signing the star. If Verratti is dreaming of Champions League glory then he should join a club like Barcelona.

The midfielder has been increasingly linked with a switch to the Nou Camp in the summer transfer window, but Donato Di Campli remained coy when asked about his client's future during an interview with Sky Italia (via FourFourTwo).

"There's nothing new, everyone has expressed their opinion", Donati Di Campli told Premium Sport today. However, Verratti has already revealed his decision to leave his current employers this summer.

The 24-year-old is exactly what Barca needs.

Theresa May backed the Remain campaign, until she launched her leadership campaign with the slogan "Brexit means Brexit". That bump was presaged by gains in last year's Scottish parliamentary elections and local elections in March.

Ernesto Valverde's reign has begun at Barcelona, and the manager is wasting no time in getting the players he needs. A meeting between Verratti and Sporting Director Henrique is due to occur in the coming days. Should the meeting take place, it will be for the second time as a meeting did take place in Formentera a year ago.

Barcelona have made a €100 million bid for Italy worldwide Marco Verratti, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. The Catalan side reportedly had bids for Manchester United's Ander Herrera, and Nice's Seri turned down.

"Verratti? There is the will of PSG to keep him at all costs".

"An Italian return? That's too complicated for the finances of their clubs".
