Pelosi: Trump's decision on Paris accord 'doesn't have factual basis'

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said U.S. withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement had come as a shock for India and he believes America will rethink its decision on the climate change agreement.

Trump's top climate adviser Scott Pruitt was indignant: "The world applauded when we joined Paris".

In recent days governors and almost 200 mayors - from small towns to megacities - have vowed to collectively reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and adopt clean energy technologies.

"It would be unfortunate to lose a leading partner like the United States in the global journey to secure a green and safe planet for ourselves and our future generations", the foreign ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, informing that Bangladesh is "disappointed".

Haley replied: "President Trump believes the climate is changing, and he believes pollutants are part of that equation".

The Green Climate Fund is a program birthed in 2010 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to address the disproportionate burden climate change is placing on the developing world.
