Women-only sessions of Wonder Woman upset men

And when we say 'Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only, ' we mean it.

That's how movie theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema disclosed the terms of a women-only screening of "Wonder Woman" that, as of Thursday, was still attracting complaints from mostly men upset over what some described as gender inequality.

On social media the move is being praised by many commenters, but the cinema chain is also being hit with claims of "sexism" and "misandry", with some angry men threatening to "never set foot" in Drafthouse theatres again.

When the critics came knocking, Alamo Drafthouse answered. "Everyone working at this screening - venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team - will be female", Alamo Drafthouse posted on Facebook.

So lasso your geeky girlfriends together and grab your tickets to this celebration of one of the most enduring and inspiring characters ever created.

"Justice League" Nov. 17, 2017Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) unite to battle the evil Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).

Premiums rise because providers raise their fees, drug costs soar, and because health insurance companies make big profits. What else is important in keeping ACA and rejecting AHCA is the protection for people with preexisting conditions.

Unfortunately, and nearly expectedly, a crowd of sexists have flocked to the Alamo Drafthouse's Facebook page to question and protest the horror that is two-and-a-half hours of no men allowed. "That providing an experience where women truly reign supreme has incurred the wrath of trolls only serves to deepen our belief that we're doing something right".

No word yet on whether a clown-only screening of the upcoming horror remake "It", as requested by one Facebook user, will be scheduled by the company next September.

"Great, let us know when you have guys-only screenings of Thor, Spider-Man, Star Wars, etc", added another.

One man even offered to pay other men to pretend to identify as women to get in.

You can purchase tickets for the special screenings on Alamo Drafthouse's website. In a statement to Mashable, Alamo Drafthouse creative manager Morgan Hendrix said that the success of the Austin events will mean more screenings added elsewhere around the country at other Drafthouse sites.
