Graco Recalls Car Seats; Webbing May Not Hold Child In Crash

Graco Children's Products is recalling 25,494 convertible vehicle seats because of injury risks when a crash occurs, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday.

Cars.com reports that the model numbers affected are 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015, and 1794334.

For more information on child auto seat safety, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or go to their website here. Specific instructions on how to find the webbing tag code and date of manufacture are available on the Graco safety advisory webpage.

8th juror chosen to serve in Cosby assault case
Attorneys for iconic comedian and TV pioneer Bill Cosby have started selecting jurors for Cosby's upcoming sexual assault trial. The defense has used four of its seven strikes as it tries to exclude people they fear would be unsympathetic to Cosby.

The recall affects certain My Ride 65 convertible vehicle seats that were manufactured during the summer of 2014 and sold in the United States at list prices ranging from $119 to $199.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story mistakenly included information about a previous car-seat recall. "After further discussion with NHTSA, and a meeting on May 3, 2017, Graco has made a decision to conduct a safety recall to remedy that batch of sewn webbing", according to the NHTSA report.

Graco has traced the problem to a single batch of webbing and says it'll provide owners a replacement harness free of charge. Owners may contact Graco customer service at 1-800-345-4109.
