Under political fire at home, USA president Donald Trump sealed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia on Saturday on his maiden foreign trip as he struggled to shift attention from the aftermath of his firing of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Trump's son-in law, Jared Kushner, and daughter Ivanka, both senior advisers, were also part of the official delegation. These will be first remarks that Trump has given overseas as President of the United States.

The deal's letter of intent will "support Saudi Arabia's defense needs" with naval ships, tanks and other vehicles that were part of agreements with former administrations.

On Saturday, the U.S. signed trade deals of $350bn (£270bn) with Saudi Arabia. U.S. technology and engineering conglomerate GE said it had signed $15 billion of agreements with Saudi organizations.

His speech, the centrepiece of his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, will address the leaders of 50 Muslim-majority countries and comes amid a renewed courtship of the United States' Arab allies as the president held individual meetings with leaders of several nations, including Egypt and Qatar.

They were treated to arrival ceremonies at the airport and Royal Court palace.

Symptoms include joint pain, fatigue, fever, a red distinctive bull's-eye skin rash, flu-like illness and swollen lymph nodes. When the never-seen-before virus was identified, the scientists called it Powassan after the town where the child lived.

His address, to a summit of regional leaders, will come on the second day of his first presidential trip overseas. A military brass band played, and a fighter jet flew overhead, highlighting the importance of the visit.

Trump was honored for "efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two friendly countries" and "his quest to enhance security and peace in the region and the world".

Later Saturday, Trump was greeted by a traditional troupe of Saudi drummers and sword-waving dancers.

Trump's speech also comes as he and his administration have continued to defend the executive order barring visitors to the USA from six Muslim-majority countries, which the administration is seeking to reinstate in litigation after it was blocked by federal judges.

US President Donald Trump, along with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who is accompanying him on the trip, attended a signing ceremony for nearly $110 billion worth of defence capabilities to be conveyed to Saudi Arabia, the US Department of State said in a statement on Saturday.

"Great to be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mr. President, your visit will strengthen our strategic cooperation, lead to global security and stability". The nine-day trip will also include Israel, the Palestinian territories, Brussels, the Vatican and Sicily.
