Mustafi says Champions League still in Gunners' sights

Mustafi says Champions League still in Gunners' sights

Well, we did a lot of math and thinkin' this past week about what it would take for Arsenal to sneak into that last Champions League place. They are third, a point and a place above Manchester City, having played a game more.

The league's rules state: "If at the end of the season either the league champions or the clubs to be relegated or the question of qualification for other competitions can not be determined because two or more clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding league matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the board".

However, it seems much will depend on Maguire's desire to stay at Hull if they stay in the Premier League as the club will be desperate to keep one of their best players moving forward to improve and avoid a repeat of this season.

"Obviously every footballer wants to be playing in the Premier League, myself included", said the 24-year-old. Even if Arsenal do win their last two games, their CL odds are long - if City net four points out of their two games, Arsenal can't catch them, and as mentioned, if Liverpool wins, Arsenal can't catch them either.

Nadal crushes Djokovic to reach Madrid final
Rafael Nadal won the first set against Novak Djokovic 6-2. "It means the world to me to make it to another final here in Madrid". A brilliant Nadal point sealed the first set, ending Djokovic's run of 15 successive sets in matches with the Spaniard.

Chelsea clinched their fifth Premier League title on Friday night as they beat West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns thanks to a late Michy Batshuayi strike.

"I think that's how you look at it if you don't get there", he said on Sky Sports when asked about no Champions League football helping a title charge.

United's chances of breaking their way in are all-but gone after Sunday's 2-0 loss at Arsenal - although they are now in with a chance of Champions League qualification after reaching the final of the Europa League.

And speaking after the win on the south coast, in which Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud struck, Mustafi told reporters: "Well, I wish we found that [form] before. Then we will see what happens".
