IPL: Pune beat Kings XI Punjba, reach play-offs

If he performs well then RPS can seal the playoff berth today itself. We have done all that we have planned in the team meeting.

The Black Caps batsman made a stunning catch for Kings XI to dismiss Mumbai Indians' Lendl Simmons. In form of Henry and Ishant concern, the game is going to be superb and KXIP has options like Darren Sammy and Varun Aaron for replacement if they see any loopholes' on any of his players. But it is highly unlikely that RPS can beat them on the net run-rate. But, they crumbled against Rising Pune Supergiant when they had to produce their best cricket.

Rising Pune Supergiant skipper Steve Smith praised his bowlers who did a fantastic job in restricting Kings XI Punjab to a meagre 73 in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Sunday.

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has once again lit up the IPL, leading his Kings XI Punjab side to a win over Mumbai.

From 99 for no loss, Mumbai Indians slumped to 121 for 4 and it was a matter of time before scoreboard pressure got to the home team.

For all practical goal, KKR are certain of a place in the Playoffs.

Amtrak Engineer Charged With Manslaughter for 2015 Crash
On May 12, 2015 Amtrak train 188 travelling from Washington, DC to New York City derailed on the outskirts of Philadelphia. He had become aware, through radio traffic, that a nearby commuter train had been struck by a rock.

The only other player to achieve this feat in 10 seasons is Suresh Raina (CSK and Gujarat Lions).

However, Punjab, who have had a more recent resurgence, in which they have won four out of their last five games, are right on their tail. But in that case, Kings XI Punjab will be eliminated and KKR will be through. Currently RPS is in the 3rd position with 16 points and KXIP are in the 5th position with 14 points.

The sharp hands: The old cliché "catches win matches" rung true in Mumbai as Martin Guptill and Wriddiman Saha's safe hands proved pivotal in the eventual victory. Punjab was in a critical situation as they had 3 matches and losing one match will lose their chance of Playoff. While they have seldom disappointed, RPS will lose it's all hopes.

For RPS, it will be a challenge facing KXIP, whose campaign gained momentum during the business end of the tournament. The victor of the match will enter final, while the losing team will have another shot at entering the title clash in the Qualifer 2 on May 19.

Thakur's canny pace and length variations were central to Rising Pune defending 161 against Royal Challengers Bangalore - the lowest total defended by a vising side at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the IPL.
