Mental Health Month targets 'Risky Business'

Winners for 2017 will be announced at a conference in late spring.

The mental health conversation benefits everyone. Each mental health condition has its own signs and symptoms. They appear to be offering no extra funding and have consistently raided mental health budgets over the last seven years.

1 in 4 people in the United Kingdom will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives. That being said, mental illness may directly impact someone we know such as a family member or friend suffering from depression, anxiety or an adjustment disorder or it might be something we've had to face in our own lives. Research conducted by the Mental Health Foundation shows that 70 per cent of women have experienced mental health problems and Edwards believes partaking in exercise can help overcome such issues. Often the biggest battle for an employee is not against external stigma, i.e. what his colleagues may think if they find out that he has a mental health issue, but internal stigma, when an individual is so concerned that his disclosure of a mental health issue will adversely impact him (regardless of whether it is objectively likely to do so or not) that they refuse to disclose their issue, nearly always just worsening the situation. No words nor motivational phrases can heal a bone; same for the mind.
