Mets suspend Harvey for violating team rules; Wilk to start

Adam Wilk will start in Matt Harvey's absence. Wilk allowed six runs in his spot start, and the Marlins won 7-0.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm guessing Harvey could have sent a simple text even if he was suffering from a migraine. "It was pretty early", Mattingly said. Four of the five runs scored in the fourth inning.

Urena struck out two, walked one and only needed 63 pitches to complete six innings. He issued one walk and struck out two in his first start since September 28.

"The last thing I ever want to do is not be here with my team", Harvey said then. It will be the first start for Urena since September 28 of last season.

Curtis Granderson launched a two-run homer off starter Tom Koehler in the bottom half, and NY came all the way back to hand the Marlins their eighth loss in 10 games.

After David Phelps, Nick Wittgren and A.J. Ramos tossed a hitless inning apiece Sunday, Ellis acknowledged he did wonder how much fun it would have been to try and coax several pitchers through a no-hit bid.

Tillman has triumphant return as Orioles beat White Sox 4-0
That ended Miley's night after 12 pitches. "I think everyone's exhausted of the wind and the rain and the cold", Showalter said. On the other side, I'd imagine the Orioles will be pretty careful with Tillman here, so I doubt we'll see much out of him.

"I've got to make better pitches and find a way to get softer contact or something", said Ziegler, charged with a career-high five runs. "But the way that our starting pitching can throw the ball, and the way that our bullpen has been constructed, there'll probably be more opportunities this season". He extended his hitting streak to 17 games Friday.

In a matter of days, the headlines at Citi Field have advanced from a background picture of a sex toy in Kevin Plawecki's locker accidentally tweeted out by the team, to ominous injury updates on the team's two biggest stars, to GM Sandy Alderson finally walking into a morning press conference on Sunday and grimly announcing that former ace Matt Harvey has been suspended without pay for three days (beginning Saturday) for the ever-nebulous violation of team rules that one Mets source described as "a compilation of issues" that "dates back to past year". In the third, he launched a solo shot off the glass window of the Porsche Grille, a shot measured at 468 feet for his 10th homer of the year.

Jerry Blevins (2-0) pitched a scoreless seventh, and Addison Reed worked a one-hit eighth before Jeurys Familia got three quick outs for his third save.

It seems dubious that the Mets would suspend one of their most popular players for suffering from a bad headache and letting them know about it. Mets manager Terry Collins told DiComo that they were handling it "in-house".

"It takes a little steam away", he said. Wilk made six starts in Las Vegas this year after signing a minor league deal with the Mets in the offseason. His replacement, Martin Prado, exited with right hamstring discomfort in the seventh. Cabrera, who was injured while playing Saturday, will not need surgery. Or maybe the Mets - who are still waiting for shark-fishing enthusiast Steven Matz to return to health, just added Asdrúbal Cabrera to an ever-growing list of roster-wrecking injuries, and as recently as Sunday morning couldn't get on message about whether or not Noah Syndergaard was going on the 60-day DL - can't help but act like dildos.
