Happy Days actress Erin Moran is found dead aged 56

"Happy Days" actress Erin Moran died from complications from Stage 4 cancer, according to the Harrison County, Indiana, Coroner's Office.

Moran had reportedly recently been made to leave her trailer park home in IN with her husband Steve Fleischmann and was living in a motel while battling substance abuse, according to United States media.

Erin Moran, Joanie Cunningham's interpreter in the 1970-80 Happy Days hit series, was found dead in IN on Saturday afternoon.

However, Moran struggled away from the screen, allegedly battling drinking problems, while tabloid reports in 2012 suggested she was broke and homeless after she and her husband, Steve Fleischmann, were kicked out of their trailer park home. Officials say Moran likely died of stage-four cancer, though they didn't specify what type.

Born in Burbank, Calif., Moran shot to fame in 1974 after she was cast as the younger sister to Ron Howard's character, Richie Cunningham, in Happy Days.

She was also seen on screen as a contestant on VH1's reality show Celebrity Fit Club, and made an appearance in the 2011 film Not Another B Movie. Reports say she first moved to IN with her husband Steve Fleischmann IN 2011 to care for his sick mother.
